Service tax department has extended the last date of filing half yearly return of April 2011 to September 2011 from 25 October 2011 to 26 December 2011. Service tax department issued an order regarding this move. According to order no 1/2011 dated 20-10-2011, the service tax return filing last date has been extended.
According to service tax department this extension is given in the view that this is the first time, e-filing of return is mandatory for all classes with the notification no. 43/2011 dated 25-08-2011. So this is the less time for the assessee to file the e-return on time. So in view this extension is given to the assessee.
