ESIC Subscribers can avail 50% Enemployment benefits under ABKY

Covid-19 is the hard time for all but many people lost their jobs in India. People who subscribe with Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) give an option to claim relief of unemployment which is half of the wages means 50%. This scheme is called Atal Beemit Kalyan Yojana in which 50% wages is given by ESIC who claims that they lost their lost in Covid-19 time. ESIC issued all instruction as how to make a claim in Atal Beemit Kalyan Yojana. Labour Ministry also issued a statement regarding this relief to ESIC subscribers.

This claim need to make both online as offline mode as one needs to make a claim online and needs to make a physical claim with ID proof affidavit and bank details. One may use speed post service or make a claim himself at ESIC branch office. This scheme called Atal Beemit Kalyan yojana is extended for one year from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021.

 


Earlier the relief was 25% but it has been increased to 50% due to Carona and 2 months lockdown which affected labour class badly.

 

Earlier one needs to submit his documents through the employer to make claim. Now one can directly go to Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) branch to make a claim. This is the significant move as no need to submit their claim with the employer.

 

These two points are very vital.

1-   Increase in the claim rate of 50 % to 25 %.

2-   Claim can be made directly and not necessary with the employer.

This new features of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) claim is applicable from 24 March 2020 to 31 December 2020.

The amount of relief will come directly in bank account of the applicant. the labour ministry issued a notification and praise the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) as the department provides services and benefits to 3.49 crore of family workers with reasonable medical care and cash benefits to 13.56 crore beneficiaries.

 

Now Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) running 1520 dispensaries and 307 Indian systems of medicines (ISM). Moreover 159 ESI hospitals, 793 branches and 64 sub regional and regional offices in states as well as union territories.
